Armin Ebrahimi

Founder & CEO

Armin Ebrahimi is a technology entrepreneur and executive with deep experience in digital identity, security, large-scale internet platforms, and enterprise technology. He is the Founder and CEO of LayeredTrust, a company building trust infrastructure for autonomous AI agents.

LayeredTrust is focused on enabling enterprises to cryptographically verify not only who an AI agent is and what it is authorized to do, but who delegated that authority, under what constraints, and whether the agent had the authority to take a specific action at the moment it was requested. As Founder and CEO, Armin leads the company’s technology vision and strategy as enterprises confront the new identity, delegation, authorization, and governance challenges created by increasingly autonomous AI systems.

Prior to LayeredTrust, Armin founded and served as CEO of ShoCard, a distributed digital identity platform designed to protect user privacy through the use of mobile devices and blockchain technology. ShoCard was acquired by Ping Identity, extending Armin’s work in digital identity and trust into one of the industry’s leading identity security companies.

Before ShoCard, Armin served as SVP of Engineering at ATOL and CEO of ADR, an AOL company. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President of Platform Engineering at Yahoo, where he was responsible for Yahoo’s registration and anti-fraud platform services. He also built Yahoo’s original display advertising platform, which operated at massive internet scale and served more than 20 billion transactions per day.

Earlier in his career, Armin founded and served as CEO of TRIicon Solutions, which was acquired by Tandem Computers.

Across his career, Armin has worked at the intersection of identity, security, distributed systems, and large-scale technology platforms. With LayeredTrust, he is applying that experience to one of the emerging challenges of enterprise AI: establishing verifiable trust and authority as autonomous agents increasingly act on behalf of people and organizations.

Armin holds a doctorate in organizational management from Capella University, as well as Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science from California State University, Chico.
